Sera Antheunis
Teacher, Chef, and Student in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Greetings, I’m Sera. I’m a teacher living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I am a recent graduate of the BEd - Technological Education program at York University with a teachable in Hospitality and Tourism (9/10 and 11/12). I will be starting my MEd in Sustainability Education at York University in September to examine the connections in sustainability education and technological education. As well, I am also a graduate of George Brown Chef School and the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France where I pursued studies to be a chef. After over 20 years in the food and hospitality industry, I decided to share my knowledge, passion and enthusiasm.
I have recently completed the George Brown College certificate program in Garden Design and work with a number of Urban Agriculture and Community Food organizations in Toronto. I am interested in pursuing urban agriculture in greater detail as well as green technologies such as aquaponics, hydroponics and vermiculture.
Overall, I think that food, food justice, agriculture/horticulture, sustainability and human needs are all interconnected and I am excited to make these connections in my future teaching practice.
