The Arctic Glacier Winter Park is a fun local attraction during the holiday season. There are several skating rinks, trails and snow park structures at The Forks during this time. Winnipeg was once home to the longest skating rink in the world. The Assiniboine Credit Union River Trail is a Guinness Book of World Records holder with an 8.54km long trail. Previous to that, the rink on Rideau Canal in Ottawa, Ontario held the World Record title. The long skating rink is an annex of the Assiniboine River and the Red River. In 2013, the title was given to the skating rink at the Lake Windermere Whiteway in Invermere, BC Canada.
