Hello, I’m Jamie. I’m a teacher from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I am a fan of music, singing and fitness.

After a pretty frightful elementary school experience myself, growing up I never imagined I would one day return to the classroom as a teacher. What isn’t a surprise is my passion for and focus on inclusive practice and my desire to create safe and accepting learning environments for both students and staff. Beyond my 7+ years teaching in both elementary and adult education contexts, I completed an MA Community Psychology in 2012 and completed my research on exploring the strategies and approaches to LGBT inclusion in the elementary school context. I also enjoy keeping up on my CPD by attending conferences and seminars aimed at broadening my inclusive practice toolkit and in areas that support my use of technology in the classroom. I am optimistic that this ELL course will provide me with more opportunities to foster an inclusive classroom and I am looking forward to learning from you!
