A member of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and holds a doctorate degree in Post Harvest technology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi and a PG Diploma in Environmental Law from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru
Spent time as a forester in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh managing state forests, community forests and protected areas. Then served the Directorate of Forest Education, Government of India at Eastern Forest Rangers College, Kurseong near Darjeeling West Bengal and the Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS), Dehradun building capacities of forestry professionals and other stakeholders in managing forests, reforesting, devising livelihood enhancement strategies, mobilizing communities and building institutions for natural resource management. Became a master trainer, accredited by the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, Government of India in the domain of forestry.
Likes spending evenings playing with daughter Samya and son Siddharsh, watching TV, writing diaries and surfing the net.
