What’s up, I’m Jay. Born on May 29, 1979, in Leeton, New South Wales, is a former professional rugby league footballer who transitioned into a successful business career after his early retirement from the sport.

🏉 Rugby League Career

Bandy began his rugby league journey in Barellan, NSW, playing junior football with the Barellan Rams. He later attended St. Gregory's College in Campbelltown, a school renowned for its rugby league program. His professional debut came in 1999 with the Parramatta Eels, where he played as a hooker in a victory over South Sydney. Following his stint with the Eels, he joined the Northern Eagles (2000–2001), making ten appearances and scoring one try. In 2002, Bandy played two games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs before a chronic back injury led to his early retirement from the NRL at the age of 23.

💼 Business Ventures

After retiring from rugby league, Bandy initially worked in the construction industry. However, due to ongoing back issues, he shifted his focus to sports apparel. He secured a position with Kombat Sports, a Queensland-based company, where he leveraged his rugby league background and connections in country NSW to achieve record sales. When Kombat Sports went into liquidation in 2012, Bandy founded his own company, Everything Sports, specializing in custom sportswear and equipment for regional clubs.

In addition to Everything Sports, Bandy is associated with Original Kit Co., further expanding his footprint in the sports apparel industry.

🎙️ Podcast Hosting

Bandy also hosts the "Everything Sports" podcast, where he interviews athletes who have transitioned from professional sports to other careers. The podcast delves into the challenges and successes these individuals face as they navigate life after sports.

🏉 Coaching & Community Involvement

Jay is also passionate about grassroots sport. He served as President of the Berkeley Vale Panthers Rugby League & Sports Club in 2020 and continues to coach junior Rugby League and Oztag. His coaching achievements include leading Central Coast U10s, U11s, U12s, and U13s to state titles, as well as coaching the NSW U13 Boys to a State of Origin title.
