It was the flair of being creative, that drove me to be a media professional. For more than 20 years in Journalism starting from a Reporter to the Editor, the Journey was full of excitement with News and People.

Started my career in mainstream Journalism in the year 2003 as a Producer and later as a Correspondent in Sahara TV, New Delhi, and Kolkata respectively, thereafter as the Station Head of Zee News in Kolkata, has experienced and excelled in various aspects of communication media while working.

Presently associated with News Sense, the digital-first Solutions Journalism initiative focused on Solutions Stories and Fact Check as Editor. Accredited Defence Journalist since 2012, certified by Ministry of Defence, Govt of India.

Also associated with Google News Initiative India Training Network, Asian American Journalist Association (AAJA), and Factshala as a Trainer with expertise in identifying and debunking Fake News.

Accredited Trainer with Solutions Journalism Network for Asia Pacific Region, focusing on the Solutions approach of Journalism.

Thomson Reuters Foundation Fellow for Human Trafficking & Slavery and LGBTQ+ & Gender Rights Reporting.

The recognition I received touches all the mediums of communication media, Television, Print, Film, and Web.

Awarded as ‘Changemaker of the Year 2021’ by Thomson Reuters Foundation in recognition of my work in the area of Development Journalism.

Awarded the prestigious 'Sishushree Award' by West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Government of West Bengal supported by UNICEF for Best Reporting on Child Rights (English) for the year 2020.

In recognition of my work highlighting gender issues through Web Journalism, I was awarded the prestigious United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) supported National Laadli Media and Advertising Award for Gender Sensitivity in the year 2016.

In the year 2014 my animation film “Tree, My Friend” was recognized as the “Best Social Film” on Climate Change and Environment in a National Contest by Yes Foundation.

I was recognized as the ‘Best TV Journalist’ in the year 2009 by KKN Journalism Awards and Candid Communication.

A 1st class Post Graduate in Mass Communication and Journalism from Jadavpur University in Kolkata and a Special Course on Journalism for Social Change from UC Berkeley. Attended the ‘Oxford News Marketing Programme’ by the University of Oxford and Meta.

Also involved in Documentary Film Making, Ad Films, and teaching Journalism and New Media.
