Jonathan Wong is a seasoned international business leader with over 20 years of experience driving growth in media, technology, and entrepreneurship across Asia and beyond. A strategic thinker with a proven track record in business development, marketing, and distribution, Jonathan has spearheaded high-impact initiatives for global industry giants and innovative startups alike.
His career began with an 11-year tenure at STAR TV (News Corporation Ltd.), where as Associate Vice President of Business Development, he led multi-million-dollar projects, launched TV channels across platforms, and pioneered the network’s groundbreaking satellite direct-to-home (DTH) service in Asia Pacific. Jonathan further cemented his reputation as a trailblazer at Celestial Pictures, where as Director of Channel Distribution, he launched the world’s first global Chinese movie channel.
With a diverse portfolio spanning NDS (now Synamedia), the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, Al Jazeera Media Network, and MX1 (SES), Jonathan has consistently delivered results in business development, PR, and marketing for top-tier media and tech organizations.
Today, he combines his industry expertise with a passion for education and social impact. As Project Director at The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Centre of Entrepreneurship, he fosters innovation, while his roles as Visiting Lecturer (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) and Trainer/Mentor (The University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Hong Kong Baptist University, The Education University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.) empower the next generation of leaders. He also serves as Chief Strategy Officer at TeenShare Ltd. and Talentier Ltd., guiding startups to scalable success.
A sought-after speaker and consultant, Jonathan actively supports social enterprises and NGOs.
