Kaitlyn Lefebvre
Student-Teacher in Sudbury, ON, Canada
I was born in the northern community of Timmins, Ontario, in 1992, and lived there until I was 18. I was raised by my single father in an Italian household with my brother, grandfather, and great aunt. I have an older sister and brother and six nieces and nephews and currently live in Sudbury, Ontario, with my fiancé and our fur babies. I am interested in the outdoors and related activities such as canoeing and camping.
I am currently in the Outdoor Adventure Leadership and Concurrent Education programs at Laurentian University. I am interested in teaching senior English classes one day as I am passionate about the subject so I am also taking extra English courses towards having that as an additional teachable.
I believe teaching is an appropriate profession for me for various reasons. One reason is that I used to work in a career that was unfulfilling and this aspect really brought me down after a few years. In contrast, I find teaching is a very fulfilling and worth while career because one is educating youth, something that I find is very important. Another reason it is a good profession for me is that I thrive on human interaction and love interacting and talking with people. Therefore, a career which deals with that type of thing all day is right up my alley. Lastly, I am a natural, and trained, leader and have always strived at taking people under my wing / teaching them knew information, skills, abilities, etc. It would only be natural then that I would gravitate to and enjoy a career that focuses on doing just that.
