Karissa Jaeckel

I’m Karissa Jaeckel, a student living in South Bend, Indiana. I am interested in photography, entrepreneurship, music, digital media, and event planning.

I plant to start my own wedding planning business once I get my college degree and I've been putting my heart and soul into getting there. For instance, I'm extremely involved in school activities and my community.

In terms of leadership roles, I'm the President of Tri-Music Honor Society, member National Honors Society, head of media and marketing on the Career Academy Robotics Team, the only female drum set player for jazz and pep band, and have participated in Summer of Service for four years and counting. I keep exceptional grades and I have a cumulative GPA of a 3.7.

Although I participate in a lot of activities in my school, I do have time to intern for a wedding planner. My school (Career Academy South Bend) will let me be a part of student internships during the school day.

I am not going in the blind, however. I do have experience in planning and wedding photography. In fact, during the summer of 2018, I planned and photographed for my first wedding as a sixteen-year-old. I do have a portfolio to show my work (the link is at the bottom of the page). As well as helping with that event, I currently work at Burns Special Events and have been working there since the summer of 2019.

In addition to having experience in the event planning industry, I have a strong background in Adobe programs such as Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I plan to have a certification in Photoshop by the end of my senior year. I've been able to have a lot of practice however as I've produced multiple promotional videos and fliers for different clubs.
