The city of Ohio is home to numerous museums. One of these is the Stengel True Museum. Located at 504 S State St., Marion, OH 43302, this mansion made of bricks was constructed during the Civil War. A lot of its artifacts are from the Colonial through the Civil War periods that feature primitive weapons, lighting, cast iron toys, Indian relics, and a Hickory Dickory Dock clock. This interesting museum also displays some primitive clothing and fine glassware. The interior has ornate architecture like the fine Italian marble fireplace. The place is open to the public every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 am to 12 noon, and 2 pm to 4 pm or by appointment. The Buckeye Telephone Museum, on the other hand, is a grand collection of telephones from when the first telephone lines were of one strand of steel wire. Over the years, several types of Open Wire and different wires were used, which became a maintenance problem. Among the many items put on display include 30 different open wire insulators, 18 wall-mounted magneto crank phones, 2 position operators switchboards, and telephone directories used in 1902.
