Becoming a clinical psychologist

I have always been involved with helping others. My background in human resources paved the road to becoming a psychologist.

When, I embarked on the journey of pursuing a higher education in psychology, I had no idea my calling would be as a psychotherapist.

After completing my practicum at Turning Point Center for Families, I realized, my gift was helping others to discover who they are and help them transform their lives.

I knew part of my work would be working with women of all ages, especially, women transitioning and couples.

The rewards of being a psychologist

As a therapist, I get the opportunity to see the growth of each person I work with. It is incredibly inspiring and a beautiful experience to see the healing of an individual. In my work, I am not only communicating with the mind, but the soul. Getting to know the many aspects of you is a journey with many revelations, self-love and self-acceptance. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be part of this life changing journey.

Psychotherapy can and usually is very liberating. I strongly believe therapy is not only for those with mental illnesses, but for everyone. Each and every one of us always need someone to hear us out unconditionally, with no judgement or biases. We all are seeking to be loved, acknowledged and accepted for who we are.

My Therapy Style

As a therapist, I am direct and to the point. This permits finding solutions in conflict areas relatively quick while addressing areas that may require more attention.

When it comes to relationships, whether it be professional relationships or marital relationships, I teach clear methods of communicating to 1) understand one another, 2) resolve conflict, and 3) communicate with clarity.

I tailor each treatment to the needs of my client(s). My experience encompasses working with women of all ages (from adolescence on) in areas of development, menopause, depression, anxiety, stress, relationships, professional discord, truama, and living and coping with medical issues.
