Robert Ouko Omwa is a Kenyan educational consultant.

Robert has a Master of Arts in International Education and Development with a Distinction from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. This FCDO-funded Chevening Scholar is very enthusiastic about the Decolonisation of the educational curriculum and making classrooms safe for children to learn. He is an ardent campaigner against Corporal Punishment. His dissertation topic was: ‘Supporting Kenyan Teachers to Use Alternative to Corporal Punishment: A Critique of the Positive Discipline Program in Kenya.’

He has over 15 years of teaching experience in Primary and Secondary schools. He is also a teacher trainer on issues of Child Protection and Non-Violent Discipline. In 2018 Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta awarded him with the prestigious Head of State Commendation award for the work he had done, training Kenyan teachers to be gender champions and non-violent discipline ambassadors.

Mr. Omwa is a Board member of Beacon Teachers Africa (BETA). BETA is a teacher-led organisation with a membership of over 5000 teachers in Africa who are looking out for the well-being of children in their communities. Robert is also the founder of Precious Seed Africa; a grassroots youth-led community-based organization that broadens spaces for youth empowerment and Child participation.
