About Me

Parrish Ticer is a San Antonio-based designer who started in the advertising business at Southwest Texas State University in the late 1980s, creating mechanical boards and doing paste-up design at the Publications Office and The University Star (the campus newspaper). He started his professional career in Temple, Texas, as one of the first Digital Designers at Custom Printing. From there, Parrish transitioned into Corporate Communications as a Creative Designer at Datapoint Corporation in San Antonio, Texas. He spent his formative years in the business working at a boutique design agency, Beck & Company Design, before becoming an Art Director at Taylor West Advertising, working on local and regional accounts such as Valero, Tesoro, IBC Bank, Railtex, and more. He has worked independently for most of his career and was a partner with Carlos Zapata as a founding member of the design agency Swirl for twelve years. They collaborated on various corporate, government, and small business advertising and graphic design work. Recently, he restarted his design practice after a stint in Internal Communications at USAA. Parrish works fast, meets deadlines, and doesn't take himself too seriously. An avid sports nerd, you'll find Parrish at a sports field watching his sons chase their dreams, walking his dog Mocha, and watching the world go by, drinking coffee with his wife Elena on the back porch of their San Antonio home.
