Prince Makofane

Hello, I'm Prince Makofane, a third-year student at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree, with a major in History and English. Alongside my studies, I am proud to serve as a peer mentor to my fellow students, supporting and guiding them throughout their academic journey.

Growing up in a small village, I witnessed firsthand the challenges and limitations that many learners face in accessing quality education. This experience has fueled my passion for making a difference in my community. My dream is to bring positive change by ensuring that all learners receive a comprehensive and enriching education that instills a love for reading and a deeper understanding of history. I believe that by immersing themselves in the past, students can gain valuable insights that will inform their future decisions.

I have always been an avid reader and love to delve into research, particularly on the problems faced in South Africa. I find great satisfaction in exploring how these issues can be addressed through mediums such as debating, writing, and immersing ourselves in our rich history. By encouraging dialogue and critical thinking, I believe we can pave the way for positive change in our society.

Through my studies, mentorship role, and personal endeavors, my goal is to contribute to the betterment of education in South Africa, especially in underserved communities. I am driven by a strong desire to level the playing field and provide equal opportunities for all learners.
