Qiniso Maphosa, professionally known as Scorpion Q, is a South African recording artist, DJ, music producer, entrepreneur, and creative visionary. Born on 5 February at Johannesburg Hospital, South Africa, Scorpion Q spent much of his childhood growing up in the rural areas of Zimbabwe, where his experiences, faith, culture, and surroundings helped shape his identity and creative vision.

From an early age, Scorpion Q developed a passion for football, playing soccer at school and for local football clubs, including Dinyane FC. He was also a church-going person, and spirituality and faith became important influences in his life. These experiences would later become part of the emotional and thematic foundation of his music.

His musical journey began around 2013 while he was in high school, when he developed a strong interest in DJing. What started as a personal passion gradually evolved into a deeper commitment to music production, recording, and artistic expression.

After returning to South Africa, Scorpion Q began officially building his career in music. His first release, “This Life Isn't Good at All (Remix),” was a Hip-Hop track that marked the beginning of his recording journey. He followed this with releases such as “Umbali (Radio Edit)” and “Asisalal'Endlin (Radio Edit),” continuing to develop his sound and moving into the Amapiano space.

His artistic journey continued with “Siyaphambili,” a track featuring the late vocalist Sthabile Natasha Ndlovu, professionally known as Shezzy. Their collaboration became part of Scorpion Q's evolving musical story and his continued exploration of contemporary African sounds.

As his creativity expanded, Scorpion Q began releasing instrumental music, singles, mixtapes, EPs, and albums. His projects include the Babe Stay True** EP** and Owanghater, an album featuring collaborations with Shezzy and Somahle. Over the years, he has continued to release numerous tracks and mixtapes while developing his unique artistic identity.

Scorpion Q is also the Founder and CEO of Scorpionqenter10ment Records and Scorpionqmusic. Through these independent creative platforms, he is building a musical brand focused on originality, independence, creativity, and the development of a distinctive African sound.

Musically, Scorpion Q continues to explore a broad sonic landscape, incorporating elements of Amapiano, Deep House, Afro House, Afro-Tech, Hip-Hop, and spiritual electronic music. His sound is driven by rhythm, deep basslines, atmospheric textures, hypnotic grooves, and themes drawn from life, spirituality, resilience, personal experiences, and African identity.

With a journey that began in the rural areas of Zimbabwe, continued through football, church, high school ,DJing, and eventually developed into a career in music and entrepreneurship, Scorpion Q represents the power of persistence and creative evolution.

Today, Scorpion Q continues to release music, develop new projects, build his independent record-label platforms, and expand his artistic vision. His mission is to create music that reflects his journey, connects with people, and contributes to a lasting legacy.
