Thato Namanyane

Student and Teacher in Johannesburg

I am Thato Snothile Namanyane. Born and breed in Sebokeng. I hold a BA degree in Communications and Languages from the University of Johannesburg. I am very passionate about education, I love learning and I have the believe that everyone is a lifelong learner. I am currently a third year Education student in the University of Johannesburg. I love reading, even with how the technological world has advanced and excelled I still believe in the power of a pen and paper; I love writing.

As an active member of the community that is often overlooked, with economic disparities, I often tutor high school learners, helping them prepare their studies and exams, which is one of the many things that made me want to be an educator, which making a meaningful contribution into learners' lives. Outside of education, studying and everything academic, I love to travel with my family, spending time with little sister (who is not so little anymore), I love spending time in the nature and taking pictures of things I find fascinating about nature. I also love volunteering my time, care and dedication at old age homes in my surrounding areas, I get to learn from the elderly, because they have pockets full of wisdom.

As I reflect on my journey as a student in education, and interest in education psychology my mission is to be a very enthusiastic teacher, who instils not only knowledge in her learners but also develop their confidence in life and allow them to have a positive attitude in who they want to be in the future. I am
committed to continuous professional growth and to making a meaningful contribution to education
through service, compassion, and lifelong learning.
